What is Sector Alpha?
Sector Alpha is a gaming network. Sector Alpha aim's to provide a high standard quality of entertainment and information in the ever expanding video gaming industry. Our goals are to not only provide infomation and news service about computer games, but to also provide top quality entertainment by orgonising entertainment nights in the online gaming world.
Our journalists aim to provide down to earth reviews and news by gamers, for gamers. Whether you are a gaming enthusiast or a casual gamer, you will be sure to find what you need right here. We aim to provide the latest news and reviews and our own thoughts on the matter. Our Journalists are all volunteers and gamers like yourself which we hope will provide the most realistic and down to earth opinion on the games on the market today. Whether it be a highly popular franchise or an indie game in the making, we aim to give our review and opinion on the game in question.
Our gaming leaders aim to proviode top quality gaming events throughout the year in as many online games as possible. You will be able to interact with likeminded gaming members of the community in the games that you enjoy whether you be inexperienced, experienced or simply a casual gamer. We aim to expand our gaming branches onto as many platforms and games as possible. We do our best to make sure that no matter what game you have, we will be able to provide a gaming entertainment service in that game. Our gaming leaders are volunteers and experienced in the game that they are assigned too, making sure that you will have the best possible experience in game and hopefully will help you achieve your goals within the game or give you the experience you would like.
What does Sector Alpha provide?
We provide our members with top quality journalism and gaming events as described above. But to our members, we provide a gaming network on our website and forums to make your experience in the network as enjoyable as possible. Our Journalism varies from articles about games, videos of gaming events (in real life and ingame) and conventions to live podcasts.
All our members can interact with the content provided on our home area, whether it be news, reviews or gaming infomation related articles. You can read, rate and comment on the articles that have been produced for you.
Our website provides a forum for each and every registered member to use. Our forums contain a variaty of discussion boards, varying from the pub to individual game discussion boards. In the pub for example, you can post about anything you feel like, whether it be about your day or opinions on things like food or shoutouts to anyone specific on the forums. The content that you post and discuss is open for all members and guests to see, and for members to interact and reply to. For each game that we are active in or aim to become active in, we provide a forum for you to discuss the game and hopefully organise game nights in. Each game will have a game leader and a main game leader assosiated with it. There role is to moderate that specific forum and to make sure that gaming entertainment does occur in that specific game, varying from game nights, gaming events or even gaming conventions and meetups in real life. You are under no obligation to go to these but we would like to know whether you are going to show up or now, just so that we can prepare in advance the event we wish to host. We aim to provide sophisticated profiles to each and every user which can easily be adjusted and altered to your design along with the adjustable privacy settings. You can provide as little or as much infomation as you like which is safely and secuely kept on our servers. You can upload an avatar and a profile of yourself, comment on other peoples profiles, upload picture albums to your profile of anything that you wish. You may join groups or even create groups about anything that you want. Whether that group be specifcally related to a game or your appreciation of pizza or Atari. Our game leaders will create a group for each game that we are involved in. But do not be afraid to do so for a game that we are not yet involved in. You are able to add people as a friend to your profile too. The other person is under no obligation to see your friend request. Once added, depending on how you adjust your privacy settings, you can have your friend post on your wall and see your albums for example.
To enhance the social experience on our website, we provide an integrated facebook like chat system, provided by ideal web technologies. With this chat system, anyone that has accepted your friend request on your profile will be able to chat and interact with you with the integrated chat system. We have an IRC channel on the server irc.swiftirc.net under the channel #sector-alpha which is open to everyone to the public to use.
All our members are provided with their own blog to name and adjust as they are like. From which they are able to post anything relating to their gaming experience, personal life, or even use it for the purposes of microblogging. Members are able to adjust the privacy settings of their blog as well.
We have an ever expanding arcade full of games for our members to enjoy. Play the games as often as you would like for free. Compete against other members to see who can get the highest score, or take part in the regularally held tournaments. Do you think you have what it takes to be the best?
In the games we play, we will have an ingame clan/alliance/guild which is open for our members to join. You are under no obligation to leave any other community/clan ingame guild but I recommend that you do if you wish to take priority in attendance to our events (espescially if there are limited in place) or if you would like to apply for a position on our forums. Click here to see a list of the games that we currently play along with a list on how to get into that specific guild. If your game is not available here and it has an online multiplayer componant. We will do our best to provide. Post the game in the gaming discussion forum and get some friends together and then we will sort you out with a forum.
I am liking the sound of this, how do I get involved?
Simply browsing the website is sufficient, but if you wish to be more involved with the network and the gaming nights, I would suggest making an account. Some of our gaming events are only available to members of our network.
To become a member of the network, all you need to do is
Register. Registration is free for everyone, no matter their background for anyone over the age of 13.
Once there, all you need to do is fill out the registration form, submit the form, and then you are ready to play.

Hang on, so you want information from me? Why is that?
The only infomation that you need to provide, is infomation about the games you are currently playing and your email address and whether you are over 13 years of age or not. We only ask for your email address to verify your account, for password recoveries and to provide you with monthly news letters. The games that you currently play is there to help you find and interact with like minded gamers, as hopefully, there will be others with similar gaming interests to you. Every other bit of information is optional. But even then, we will not sell off your infomation to any third party. Your data is sent to our servers is secure and encrypted.
